If you follow me, you know I love exfoliating, chemical exfoliation to be exact. Chemical exfoliation uses ingredients in the families of Alpha-Hydroxy-Acids (AHAs) and/or Beta-Hydroxy-Acids (BHAs), such as Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Enzymes to promote cell turnover and remove dead skin, without the harsh physical toll that exfoliating is usually associated with. I’ve found my skin has a lit-from-within glow, reduced breakouts and pore size, even texture, and an overall healthy appearance from using these ingredients regularly.
This week, I was lucky enough to test out the True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask, and honestly, it fulfilled my winter exfoliating dreams. Read on to learn more about the product, how to use, and how to get a free mask with your order before Christmas!

What is it?
An easy-to-use mask which not only powerfully exfoliates your skin with gentle ingredients, but balances with intense moisture. Especially now that it's the winter in a dry climate, I can get the strong exfoliation I love, without being worried about sensitivity or over-drying.
The star ingredients of the mask include Lactic Acid, Avocado Butter and Astaxanthin (a powerful antioxidant).
I was especially intrigued seeing Lactic Acid, since I hadn’t used a mask with this ingredient yet.
When researching, I turned to the fabulous True Botanicals clean beauty/lifestyle blog (not a promo for it, I promise), and one post in particular that teaches a lot about exfoliation, and Lactic Acid in particular. I recommend a read if you have time, but to sum it up, Lactic Acid benefits include:
Improve skin elasticity
Dissolve old skin cells
Stimulates production of collagen
Improve skin barrier function
Decrease dry skin, by stimulating ceramides (molecules that keep skin hydrated and smooth)

How to Use
I like to use at night, or a day that I know I don’t need to wear makeup. Apply to a freshly washed, dry face. (If you're in the market, the True Botanicals Nourishing Cleanser is divine for dry skin, or the Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser for combination/oily).
Apply a thin layer of the mask all over your face and neck, for more sensitive skin leave on 2-3 minutes to start, go up to 5 minutes.
I like to remove by slowly adding water to my mask while massaging my face as it thins out, continuing to add warm water until it’s thin enough to rinse off.
The result? Glowing, healthy skin.

How often? Once or twice a week
I have to note, I love love love how practical this application is. I have a few masks that need at least 30-40 minutes, so being able to just quickly apply, brush my teeth and continue with the rest of my nighttime routine before being able to rinse off is a win.
Purchasing The Mask
OR get this as a free sample size gift with any True Botanicals purchase of $40+ before 12/25! If you are looking for products to get you to the $40 mark, I love their Nourishing Cleanser and have been eyeing their toning mists (hint hint, Santa). More than $40 but worth the splurge are the Renew Radiance Renewing Oil and Vitamin C Booster.
