Winter is weird. It wreaks havoc on the skin, you don't see the sun, and oh, yeah, your skin is constantly freaking out. Did I say that already? Between the recovery from holiday indulgences, flight delays and cold fronts, I've rounded up my All Star lineup for your winter skincare, because I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it ain't over.
1. Perfect Coverage with Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream SPF
It’s been about two months since I discovered this SPF, and it’s honestly one of those few skincare items I can’t ever picture my life without, or having any desire to replace. Golly, it feels good to be in love. The SPF is mineral sunscreen, aka not chemical, aka healthier/cleaner option. Mineral sunscreen is notorious for being a pain to rub in, but this white gold soaks in like magic, seriously, and trust me, I’ve tried others. The moisturizer aspect is awesome too, it’s light but feels so incredibly hydrating and calming. The (last) best part is that it also doesn’t feel heavy under your makeup.
Ps. just because it's winter does NOT mean you don't need SPF! Always. Wear. SPF. Rain, shine, snowstorm or Cabo.

2. Maximum Skin Repair with True Botanicals Antioxidant Booster
What is a booster you ask? Something the magicians at True Botanical crafted up (I'm sure others make boosters but this is my truth) to maximize any moisturizer/serum/face oil, no matter what brand you use. I already use the Vitamin C booster in the AM, but kept curiously coming back to this one because it promised helping with clear skin and even skin tone, something my skin desperately needs in the wintertime. This booster lived up to the hype, and I feel like my skin hasn't freaked out and is even toned since using it. Just like the Vitamin C, this powder is magic and also fabulous for traveling, TSA can't touch this! Plus, even if you bring a meh moisturizer, this will amplify the skincare benefits. Plus plus, antioxidants are even more important traveling as you get exposed to more environmental toxins and pollution.

3. Glowing Hydration with Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask
Vitamin C? Squalane? Hyaluranic Acid? What buzzword does this mask NOT have in it?! The best part is it’s not just buzz, this overnight mask is fire. Or water, I guess, since it’s hydrating AF. I use as a top layer 3-4 times a week and feel like it’s the tall glass of agua my winter, Chicago skin needs. Wake up equal parts glowing and hydrated.

4. Self-Love with Heyday
What’s the month of love without a little self love?! On a quick weekender to NYC, I stopped by the place I used to frequent when I lived there. Think easy to book facials minus the downtime, and make it an insta worthy vibe. A 50 minute facial at Heyday leaves you feeling fresh and glowing, not picked over and blotchy. You can easily brunch after, which makes it a perfect stop for a packed weekend to press refresh on your skin. Ps. if you're looking for a rec, Jamie is the best!
